Gil launched UMT Consulting Group's presence in both North America and Europe, and has ongoing global responsibility with an emphasis on Marketing & Sales and strategic initiatives.
Gil has impacted the way companies invest to achieve their strategic goals. Through interaction with senior management at Fortune 1000 companies and consistent delivery of the Portfolio Management message, he has been a pioneer in driving forward the innovative concept within industries such as banking, entertainment, and insurance and has published articles about Portfolio management in several industry publications.
Having managed dozens of alignment engagements, Gil has real world insights into what drives success in these cross-functional initiatives. Whether working with clients or integrating market insights into UMT Consulting Group tools, Gil is well known for his creativity and ability to generate multiple, innovative solutions to client problems.
His background in Computer Science and consulting experience have been a key source of developing new ideas for UMT Consulting Group's software application suite. Gil has been a major contributor to the development of the UMT Consulting Group toolset by distilling the needs of UMT Consulting Group's customers and translating them to software components.
Gil Makleff started his career in the financial services industry at Chase Manhattan. There he led the effort to devise new methods for business systems planning, including how internal processes could better deliver value to outside customers. Using the conceptual framework of CASE tools in innovative ways, Gil spearheaded the automation of management consulting activities related to executive decision-making. With many successful projects and numerous "breakthroughs," Gil was inspired to create UMT Consulting Group, a venture to further refine techniques and develop innovative tools to support the alignment of IT and business.
Gil graduated from Columbia University with a degree in computer science and holds an MBA from the Stern School of Management at New York University.
