Jon Hughes is the Senior Vice President of Government Services for UMT.
Jon’s responsibilities include the management and growth of the services provided by UMT to
the federal agencies and Department of Defense. Jon has an extensive background in implementing
enterprise solutions utilizing various software packages and process frameworks. For the last 8 years
Jon has been an active member of the Microsoft EPM community, serving on several advisory boards,
speaking at multiple engagements and interacting with the product team.
Prior to joining UMT Jon Hughes served as the Vice President of Technology Solutions at
Robbins-Gioia INC (R-G). Jon provided the leadership, management and oversight of the multi-million
dollar public sector technology practice made up primarily of Microsoft based solutions (Project Server, SharePoint, Portfolio Server, Microsoft Office Automation, and Custom Application Development).
This included the development, marketing, and delivery of all client-facing technology solutions
provided by R-G. Additionally, he provided executive level direction and focus for the firm regarding
IT strategy, key partnerships and participated in all phases of the selling process.
Before becoming the lead of the Technology Solutions Group, Jon was the Chief Software Engineer
for a major US Air Force Maintenance Repair and Overhaul acquisition. Jon has his Bachelor’s degree
in Mathematics from Virginia Wesleyan College in Virginia Beach, Virginia and his Master’s degree in Mathematics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He is a native of Long Island, New York
where he enjoys beach life, fishing, boating, and motorcycling with his wife, Colleen, and his 2 sons,
Matthew 7, and Connor, 5.
